Coolidge Corner Bank Robbed by Man with Paper Bag

Police are searching Coolidge Corner for a man who reportedly robbed a bank on Beacon Street around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Police say the robber, described as a white man in his 30s wearing a dark colored ski cap, came into the on Beacon Street with a paper bag and handed a note to a teller, who complied with his orders.

Someone at the bank activated a panic alarm at 1:23 p.m. and police arrived at the bank about two minutes later. Officer fanned out around the area but were not immediately able to locate the suspect, according to Sergeant Robert Disario.

No weapon was shown during the robbery and the man took the note back before he fled west on Beacon Street, Disario said. Police also believe he left the bank without a dye pack often used to track bank robbers.
