BROOKLINE, MA β€” A COVID-19 virus testing site will open in Brookline next month outside of the Brookline Health Department next to Town Hall.

The site will open on Nov. 2 outside the Public Health building at 11 Pierce St. for town residents, Brookline students, teachers and town staff who may be sick.

"Testing is a key tool in our effort to keep COVID-19 at bay, and we're glad to be able to offer it as a resource to people in our community," Brookline Public Health Commissioner Swanni Jett said in a statement.

It will cost people without symptoms $140, according to the town, but check with your health insurance company about whether they may be able to reimburse you for the test.

Testing will be held in tents in the Health Department parking lot for as long as weather consistently permits, according to Jett. When the weather gets colder, testing will be moved to the Denny Room, which is located on the lower level of the Brookline Department of Public Health Building.

The Brookline Department of Public Health partnered with mPathy LLC to bring testing site to town.

In the meantime, there are two other testing sites in town
