BROOKLINE, MA β€” Shuttle busses are replacing the Green Line C Branch services Friday morning after Green Line officials reported some smoke in the wire trough above the tracks.

"Boston Fire responded, investigated and cleared," said MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo. "The MBTA Power Department will make repairs to the overhead catenary system."

Green Line C riders heading into Boston were told to get off the train at St Mary's on the C line and at Fenway for the D line because the train they were on was on fire, two riders said. They said they were not aware of shuttle bus replacements at that point. Several riders walked to Kenmore to take the train there, they said.
