Dog Falls Through Ice At Brookline Reservoir
When police and fire rescue crews arrived, the dog was under the water and not moving, police said.

BROOKLINE, MA β A beloved pet dog is dead after it broke free from its owner to chase geese at the Brookline reservoir hours before the end of 2020.
A woman was walking with her medium-sized dog around the Brookline Reservoir Dec. 31 around noon when the dog spotted some geese, and the owner lost control of the leash, according to police.
The dog ran down to the reservoir onto the ice, fell in and was swimming but did not make it to shore. A man with the woman jumped into the reservoir to try to reach the dog, but told the police later the ice was impeding his movement.
