Conflict of Interest and Open Meeting Law Training

Town Council's office will host a training session for newly elected or appointed members of and town boards, commissions and committees (except School Committee) who have not fulfilled the Mandatory Training By-law requirement, as well as interested members of the public.

In May 2006, Brookline Town Meeting adopted Article 3.20 of the General By-Laws, which requires Town Counsel to host a mandatory training seminar covering the requirements of the State’s Conflict of Interest Law and the Open Meeting Law. All elected or appointed officials, elected or appointed after September 26, 2006 must attend a training seminar. Officials unable to attend should contact Town Counsel to make other arrangements.Β  A copy of the by-law can be obtained at the Town Clerk’s Office or on-line at http://www.brooklinema.gov/townclerk (Refer to Town By-laws Article 3.20).
