Firefighter Injured Putting Out Dumpster Fire in South Brookline
Treated for back injuries and released.

A Brookline firefighter was hospitalized last night after he injured his back while putting out a dumpster fire on Newton Street in South Brookline.
The firefighter was treated for his injuries and has been released, according to Chief Peter Skerry.
"He's going to be fine," the chief said.

The fire started in a dumpster at a construction site near 860 Newton St., near the Newton-Brookline border. Skerry said the dumpster was full when it caught fire.
"It was going pretty good up there," he said. "It took us about 15 minutes or so to get it out."
