Florida Police Nab Man Suspected of Breaking into 20 Brookline Homes

Break-ins occurred between May 21 and July 1.

A Roslindale man suspected of breaking into at least 20 Brookline homes has been picked up by police in Florida.

Robert Forsyth, 55, was arrested in front of his Tampa home yesterday by Hillsborough County Sheriffs Department on a Brookline warrant. Brookline Police are now working on extraditing Forsyth to Massachusetts to stand trial.

Police say Forsyth is responsible for 20 home break-ins between May 21 and July 1. Brookline detectives contacted Hillsborough County authorities after discovering that he had a home in Tampa as well as Roslindale.

Brookline police release a wanted poster for Forysth in early July, saying he was responsible for as many as 12 break-ins around Brookline. At the time, police said they had recovered stolen property that Forsyth had allegedly sold to someone else.
