βWeβre excited to run the marathon together and help our friend in his fight against leukemia,β said Chris. βThis will be my wifeβs first marathon and my third Boston in a row, so we are ready to have an amazing day and, hopefully, make a difference in the life of a friend.β
Chris is a member of the running team for the Boston Athletic Association and hopes to improve upon his personal record time for a marathon of 2:48 by running a sub 2:45 in April.
βRunning the marathon with my husband will be a memorable experience,β said Katie. βAnd helping someone who is going through such an arduous struggle will make it all the more rewarding.β
