Here's When You Have To Clear Your Sidewalk In Brookline
Failure to comply with the Town's Snow Removal Bylaw could result in fines ranging from $100-$250 per day.

BROOKLINE, MAβ The storm ended at 9 a.m. Tuesday, which means the clock is ticking on how long home and business owners have to clear their sidewalk, or risk a hefty fine.
Commercial and multi-family (more than four units) sidewalk enforcement begins at 12 p.m. Tuesday. Homes with less than four units have until 3 p.m. Feb. 3, to shovel and de-ice.
Brooklineβs bylaws require property owners to βmaintain sidewalks contiguous to their property in a non-slippery condition suitable for pedestrian travel by clearing all snow and ice from a pathway at least 36 inches in width."

The cleared walk must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, including the removal of snow and ice from any adjoining wheelchair ramps or curb cuts.

So how much of the white stuff did Brookline get? The rain did a good job of washing much of it away in North Brookline and the National Weather Service has no official spotter reporting snow totals in town, so it's difficult to know for sure, but it's likely that Brookline got somewhere between Boston's 1.2 inches and Newtons reported 7 to 8 inches.
