Hotel Employee Bitten in Face by Guest's Dog

Worker taken to hospital with puncture wounds to the face.

A worker at the was taken to the hospital with puncture wounds to the face last Friday after being bitten by a dog that had tried to escape the pet-friendly hotel.

Police say the attack took place around 6:45 p.m. Nov. 26 when a golden retriever that had been brought down to the lobby to keep it from disturbing other guests broke free from a gated area. An employee reportedly caught the dog as it was headed into the street and the frightened animal bit them in the face.

The worker was evaluated by paramedics and taken to Beth Israel Hospital. It is not clear if the dog's owner, who was staying at the hotel, will be cited.

The Boston-Brookline Holiday Inn allows pets to stay with their guests for a $15-per-night fee, according to the hotel's website.
