House Fire Near VFW Parkway Impacts Traffic: Brookline Police
Police said the bus route from Forest Hills to Cleveland Circle and traffic on the VFW was also affected.
BROOKLINE, MA — Firefighter officials said they put out a fire at a home on Sherman Road around 8:4o a.m. Thursday, but as crews cleaned up, traffic was affected by road closures in South Brookline.
Brookline police announced Independence Road was closed at the VFW Parkway and at Beverly Road for at least part of the morning.
Brookline Fire Department said the fire appeared to be in the roof area. No word on how many people were displaced or estimate on the damages. The home was part of a brick row house.
