Man Beaten, Robbed Outside Chestnut Street Apartment
Victim taken to hospital with broken finger.

A Chestnut Street resident was beaten and robbed early last Wednesday morning by three men apparently waiting for him outside his apartment building.
The man told police he had noticed the men acting suspiciously in a blue van as he was walking home along Perkins Street earlier in the night, and had crossed the street to avoid them. When he arrived at his apartment on Chestnut Street around 12:30 a.m., the van was outside and the three men began chasing after him.
The victim told police he tried to run away but tripped and fell, scraping his elbow. The three attackers, described as black men in their late 20s or early 30 wearing dark clothing, caught up with him and punched and kicked him, searching his pockets and stealing his wallet before fleeing toward Jamaica Plain in the van, a blue Dodge Caravan.
