MBTA to Run Bus Shuttles Along D Line During Weekend Disruption

Normal service to resume Monday, July 26.

The MBTA is suspending train service between Fenway and Reservoir stations on the D Line for 48 hours this weekend so crews can install pre-cast concrete bridge beams under the Dean Road Bridge.

Shuttle buses will pick up riders at all stops between Fenway and Reservoir – except Beaconsfield – during the disruption, which is expected to last from early morning on Saturday, July 24, through early morning on Monday, July 26. Beaconsfield riders will be directed to the Dean Road stop on the C Line.

The stairs and temporary pedestrian bridge at Deans Road will also be closed through the weekend. Pedestrians will be directed to the crossing at Beaconsfield Path.

In the week before the disruption, crews are using some metered parking spaces along the Beacon Street median to stage delivery and installation of the beams. Parking restrictions along the median will continue through the weekend.

T officials have also told residents to expect nighttime construction noise through the weekend.

This is the third time T officials have shut down D-Line service during the bridge reconstruction, which began in May and is expected to continue through next February. T officials expect to disrupt service again in August and September.
