Patch Picks: Places for a St. Patty’s Celebration

With St. Patricks Day here at last, we decided to look around Brookline today for the best spots to celebrate your Irish roots, whether you actually have them or not. So don some green and head down to these spots.

Why Go: This lower Beacon Street pub offers an Irish experience all year round, but tonight will be extra special with a corn beef and cabbage special and live Irish music starting at 5 p.m.

Corrib Pub & Restaurant
Why Go: This oft-overlooked pub in Coolidge Corner will be offering a corn beef dinner tonight, along with a number of specials that include leg of lamb, baked sea scallops and fillet mignon.

Why Go: This pub may not be Irish, but one of its owners, Damien Dowling, definitely is. Stop by to wish Damien a happy St. Patrick’s Day and try their new special—braised Colorado lamb with rice and sweet potatoes—while you’re there. 

Why Go: This Brookline Village pub offers gastropub fare with a hint of Irish influence. Look for the shepherd’s pie, chopped liver and steak & spuds on the menu.

Why Go: This Washington Square favorite always has a raucous crowd on St. Patrick’s Day. Be prepared to shout over the din if you go.
