Police Seized Computer, Videos After Arrest of Alleged Peeping Tom

Brookline Police say they seized a computer, camera and videos of unsuspecting people in the their homes after the arrest of a man caught peeking into a Lawton Street apartment window last week.

Robert E. Higgins Jr., 47, was arrested last Wednesday night on several charges, including of photographing an unsuspecting person in the nude. All reports related to the arrest have been sealed by a Brookline District Court judge, and Brookline police released few other details last week.

But today police announced that they had seized several items during the arrest, including a "computer, pictures, camera, and videos of people in their residences whose identities are still yet to be determined." Police dispatch records also indicate officers found a "web cam" on Beal Street.

According to a criminal docket, Higgins faces charges of photographing an unsuspecting nude person, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He is due back in court on Sept. 1.

Higgins was initially held on $500,000 bail, but his bail was later lowered to $25,000 on appeal, according to David Traub, spokesman for the Norfolk District Attorney's Office. Traub did not know whether Higgins had made bail as of Friday afternoon.

If released before his trial, Higgins' bail conditions would require him to wear a GPS monitoring device, stay out of Brookline and stay at least 50 yards from any schools, playgrounds, libraries and parks.
