
The following incident report is based on Brookline Police Department dispatch logs for Tuesday, Sept. 7, through Thursday, Sept. 9. Look for weekend incident reports each Monday and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch.
Animal
- A passing child reported seeing a dead cat on a Cushing Road property on Sept. 9. No one was home and officers advised the children to keep their distance.
- Someone reported seeing a baby squirrel in the front yard of a Beverly Road home through the morning and afternoon of Sept. 9 and told police they were worried it may die if left there.
- A black dog was reportedly running around Coolidge Corner around 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 8 and appeared confused.
- A squirrel was reported caught in a fence around 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 7.
- Someone reported losing a wallet in a Boston cab near Beacon and St. Mary's streets on Sept. 9.
- A Brookline resident reported losing his handicapped placard somewhere between Brighton and Brookline on Sept. 9.
- A man reported that his jacket was stolen while he was moving out of an apartment on Hamilton on Sept. 9. His passport and other items were in the pocket.
- An employee at Tiny World Childcare on Beacon Street reported that their car keys were stolen on Sept. 8.
- An employee on the 1000 block of Beacon Street went into the bathroom around 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 7 and came back to find her wallet missing.
- An employee at Dexter Park Apartments on Freeman Street told police someone keyed his car in the parking lot while he was at work between 12:30 and 9:30 a.m.
- A Babcock Street resident reported that someone has been putting screws in his tires and said he would like an officer to investigate.
- The owner of a black Honda Accord reported that they parked their car in a parking lot off Newton Street and came back to find the windshield cracked and stone all over the car.
- A caller reported hearing a women or child yell out after being hit around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 9. Police found it was just children horsing around.
- A traffic crash involving a school but and another vehicle was reported around 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 8. There was only minor damage and no injuries.
