Police Log: Baby Out the Window, Foul-Mouthed Movers and an Assault with Eggs

The following incident report is based on Brookline Police Department dispatch logs for Monday, Aug. 30, through Thursday, Sept. 2. Look for weekend incident reports each Monday and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch.

- Β A caller reported seeing a cab driving by on Beacon Street with a baby hanging out of the window. Police investigated the call and reported that it has been the result of "misunderstanding."
- A woman reported that a someone had driven by her in an SUV and pelted her with eggs near Chestnut and Henry Street late on Aug. 31.
- A woman reported that she and her roommate had been moving out an apartment on Winthop Road when she and her roommate were sexually harassed by men working for a moving company. The woman said the movers were there again when they went back to get more things on Sept. 2.
- A caller reported finding a dog that appeared "stuck" behind a dumpster in the rear of a Beacon Street building on Sept. 2.
- A dog was reportedly seen alone in a pickup truck with the windows only slightly open in Brookline Village on Sept. 2.
- An Albert Road resident reported that a family of raccoons was "acting strange" and trying to get into a basement window on Sept. 2.
- A golden retriever was seen wandering the Manchester Street area around 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 2.
- A cat was reportedly struck by a car on 1100 block of Beacon Street just before noon on Sept. 1.
- Someone reported an injured pigeon trying to cross the street at Aspinwall Avenue and Harvard Street around on Aug. 31.
- An adult bicycle was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Boylston Street between 7:30 and 11 a.m. on Sept. 2.
- An iPad was reportedly stolen from a house on School Street sometime in the week before Sept. 1.
- Two wallets were reportedly stolen out of purses at a JFK Crossing store around 6:45 p.m. on Sept 1. One victim toldΒ police three men had distracted her while another took her wallet.
- A woman reportedly seen placing a book from a Coolidge Corner store in her bag and walking out without paying around 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 1.
- Someone reportedly they had put up five temporary tow signs on Garrison Road last night and they were all gone by this morning.
- A wallet was reportedly stolen our of the locker room at Bodyscapes Fitness last on Aug 31.
- Someone reported that their pocket book was stolen while they were at Panera Bread in Coolidge Corner around 2 p.m. on Aug. 31.
- A wallet was reported missing from an office on the 1800 block of Beacon Street on Aug. 31.
- An employee's Blackberry was reportedly stolen from a from the front counter of a store on the 1300 block of Beacon Street on Aug. 31.
- A heavy cast-iron planter was reportedly stolen from the front yard of a Lee Street home sometime around Aug. 31 or Sept. 1.
- The Uhaul garage on Route 9 reported that a trailer had gone missing sometime during the night of Aug. 30.
- Two mountain bikes were reported stolen from a Chestnut Street home between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 30
- A grill was stolen off a Subaru on Prince Street sometime during the night Aug. 29.
- A brown leather wallet containing cash, credit cards, an ID and uncashed checks was reportedly lost around the 400 block of Washington Street around 6:30 on Sept. 1.
- Β A resident of the 600 block of Washington Street reported that they came home on Sept. 1 to find a window open and their laptop missing.
- A Waverly Road called police around 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 31 after she reportedly woke up and found a strange man had walked into her apartment.
- A Jeep struck another car near Hammond and Boylston streets, taking off a side mirror, around 7 p.m. on Sept. 2.
- A woman driving a Honda CRV reportedly backed into another car and then tood off east on Route 9 on Sept. 1. The caller was able to give police the car's license plate number.
- A caller reported seeing a gold Infinity strike another car on the 1300 block of Beacon Street on Aug. 31. The caller said they tried to stop the driver but they fled the scene.
- Someone called police on Sept. 2 to report that she had been verbally harassed by a woman she had had a fight with the week before. Both parties were on Route 9 near Cypress Street.
- A Brookline parking officer reported finding a car with the engine running and two children inside on Route 9 around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 2.
- Someone flagged down a detail officer near Thorndike and Clarence streets to report two women fighting nearby around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 2.
- A Francis Street resident called police on Sept. 2 to reported that a neighbor had walked into her apartment and screamed at her.
