Best of Blotter
  • Employees at the Village Gulf Station called police on March 2 after a customer took off with a gas hose and nozzle still attached to their car. A gas attendant was able to grab the hose, but there was still damage to the gas station.
Theft
  • A man fled the CVS/pharmacy at 900 Commonwealth Ave. around 12:30 on March 2 after trying to break into a fragrance case.
  • Someone reported that their wallet and social security card were stolen on Longwood Avenue on March 2.
  • A bicycle was reported stolen from Harvard and Foster streets on March 2.
  • A wallet and passport were stolen from a woman’s bag while she was at Baptiste Yoga Studio on March 1.
  • A blue BMW was reported stolen from Abbotsford Road on March 1.
Burglary
  • A car on the 1300 block of Beacon Street was found with a rear window smashed. It was not immediately clear if the damage was old or where it happened.
  • Someone broke into a car in a Dean Road driveway on March 1 and stole a box of coins.
  • A computer and other items were stolen from a car parked in a Clinton Road driveway on March 1. Some of the items were found in a neighbor’s driveway.
  • A cell phone and laptop were taken from a car on Willard Road on March 1.
Animal
  • A coyote was spotted running down Chestnut Street on March 3.
  • Police were called after a squirrel became stuck in a pipe in the Pierce School amphitheatre on March 2.
  • Someone reported a coyote in a backyard off Oakland Road Extension on Feb. 28
Misc
  1. Police received a report of illegal dumping at Larz Anderson on March 2.
  2. A woman told police that a man hit her car and threw ice near Salisbury Road and Washington Street on March 2.
