Police Log: "Little Baby Creatures" Fall From A Tree

The following incident report is based on Brookline Police Department dispatch logs for Monday, Aug. 2, through Thursday, Aug. 5. Look for weekend incident reports each Monday and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch.
A tan and black mutt was reportedly running loose around Roberts and Franklin streets around 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 4.
Around 11:30 on Aug. 4, a caller reported that "little baby creatures" had fallen out of a tree on Carlton Street. The caller was unsure what kind of creatures they were. The Animal Rescue League was notified.

An injured squirrel was spotted on the VFW Parkway on Aug. 3.
A Warwick Street resident called police on Aug. 3 to report that their cat had become stuck between a screen and the window.

Police received a call on Aug. 2 about a duck with what appeared to be an injured leg under a willow tree by the lagoon at Larz Anderson Park.
LarcenyA wallet was reportedly stolen from a customer's purse at Panera Bread between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 4. The wallet contained the customer's ID, credit cards and cash.
Around 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 4, a Honda scooter was reported stolen from 10 Brookline Place, where it had been parked and left unlocked.
Someone reportedly stole a cell phone from an employee at 1 Brookline Place around 4 p.m. on Aug. 4. A security guard reportedly chased the thief up Washington Street and into Brookline Village, but was not able to catch up with him.
A full-size Weber grill was reportedly stolen from a backyard on Gardener Street on Aug. 3. The owner suspected workers who had been there earlier in the day.
Someone came into the police station to report that their Saab, which had been parked on Harvard Street in the Village, had been stolen. The owner later called the station to report that the car had been located.
Breaking & EnteringSomeone smashed the front passenger window of a green Subaru on Glenoe Road on Aug. 3 or 4 and stole a wallet while leaving several other items, including an iPod and several gifts in bags.
Someone rummaged through a Subaru on Perry Street on Aug. 2 or 3, but didn't take anything.
Lost & FoundA caller reported finding a purse on St. Paul Street around 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 3.
A Bay State Taxi driver reported finding a purse in his taxi on Aug. 3.
Hit & RunA car reportedly struck another car across from the barber shop on Walnut and High streets and fled toward Cypress Street on around 9 a.m. on July 3.
