Police: Pharmacy Customer Stole $1,750 in Celtics Tickets from Brookline CVS

A Brookline woman was arrested Saturday evening after she allegedly snatched a booklet of Celtics season tickets that another customer had left behind on a pharmacy counter in Coolidge Corner.
Police have charged Valerie Smith, a 43-year-old woman who lives at 61 Park St., with larceny from a building and larceny of property worth more than $250, according to a police report. The pamphlet she is accused of stealing reportedly held 43 tickets worth a total of $1750.
Police were called to the at 1322 Beacon Street around 4 p.m. on Nov. 13 after a customer reported that a booklet of tickets was missing from an envelope he had accidentally left behind at a pharmacy counter. Employee reviewed the store's surveillance footage and reportedly spotted Smith, also a customer at the pharmacy, taking the tickets from the envelope.

After speaking with Smith, police were able to locate the booklets in the incinerator in her apartment building on Park Street. The tickets were returned to the owner, who reported that a ticket for one game, a March 2011 match against Indiana, was missing.
