Police: Suspect Wanted for Two Brookline Bank Robberies

Brookline Bank on lower Beacon Street robbed yesterday.

Brookline police say the man who a Brookline Bank on lower Beacon Street yesterday afternoon was likely the same one who knocked over a Sovereign Bank in Coolidge Corner last week.

The suspect was described by witnesses at both robberies as a Hispanic man in his 30s, about 5-foot-2 or 5-foot-7 with a medium to heavy build. He was reportedly wearing a black jacket during the Brookline Bank robbery and a blue jacket during the Sovereign Bank robbery.

Police say the man walked into the Sovereign Bank on Beacon Street around 12 p.m. on Feb. 4 and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. He is then believed to have hit the Brookline Bank around 3:10 p.m. yesterday, fleeing on foot toward park drive. He did not show a weapon in either incident.

The Citizen’s Bank in Coolidge Corner was on Jan. 26, but the suspect in that case was described as a white man in a Bruins cap.
