Reebok Founder's Brookline Mansion Sells Way Under Asking

Once among Realtor.com's most expensive listings, the mansion sold for just 25 percent of its original asking price.

BROOKLINE, MA -- The Brookline mansion built by Reebok founder Paul Fireman has sold after four years on the market and multiple price cuts.

The estate includes nearly 27,000 interior square feet among its eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms and five half-bathrooms. It first hit the market in 2016 with a $90 million price tag.

Realtor.com reports the home's asking price was reduced to $69 million in early 2019 and to $38 million later in the year. Most recently, the house had been marked down to $33 million.

The home finally sold for $23 million on Aug. 26.

Sports fans might recognize the home as neighboring the vacant mansion belonging to Tom Brady, which has recently come off the market.

The home was designed by architecture firm Shope Reno Wharton, and the seller was represented by the Sarkis Team at Douglas Elliman. The buyer was represented by Terrence Maitland of LandVest.

It's unclear who purchased the home. Maitland did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
