Rt 9 Closed To Traffic Overnight For Up To 3 Weeks In Brookline

A section of Route 9 could be closed as crews work on the road for three weeks, according to MassDOT.

BROOKLINE, MA β€”Route 9 between High Street and River Road both directions in Brookline will be closed to traffic evenings for up to three weeks, according to MassDOT.

"Paving will take approximately 3 nights," Kristin Pennucci of MassDOT told Patch. "The announced project timeline of three weeks is to take into account possible weather delays with work and other necessary activities which will include line striping."

From 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Tuesday and possibly lasting until Nov. 2, crews will work to pave the stretch of roadway and then stripe the entire roadway.

Watch for detours, message boards and police to guide drivers through the quarter mile stretch of Boylston Street.
