Shuttle Buses To Replace Green Line D Branch For 2 Weeks
It's part of track work replacement project.

BROOKLINE, MA β If you use the Green Line's D branch you might be noticing an uptick in the number of times you have to jump off and take a shuttle bus. The good news is that maintenance crews are working on the track along the D branch in Brookline.
The not so good news is that this means bus shuttles will replace train service on some portions of the D branch from time to time from 2018 through 2020.
The latest big stretch will affect commuters for the journey between Kenmore and Brookline Hills Monday.

This project is part of the MBTA initiative to bring the Green Line track and signal systems "into a state of good repair," according to the MBTA.
Crews are working to replace about 6.5 miles of signal infrastructure, and 25,000 feet of track, including special track work between Beaconsfield and Riverside stations.
When they're done look for signal equipment centralized at stations, they will have modern electronics replace what they deem obsolete signal equipment and a continuous welded rail will replace jointed rail.
The changes will help reduce delays because of signal failures and response times, according to the MBTA.
