Cop goes missing, students move in and campaigning heats up.
Hurricane Earl may have been a dud, but Brookline still had plenty going on in the last week.
The week started with the news that Brookline Police were searching for a missing officer with money problems and access to a gun. And though Officer Tom Shea was spotted at WBZ studios on Monday, the week ended with no new word about his whereabouts.
Police were also kept busy arresting car prowlers and looking into foul-mouthed movers, while county prosecutors tacked on new charges for the Brighton man arrested last month for recording unsuspecting people in the nude. And with college students moving in this week, Brookline police also offered a few helpful tips for being a decent neighbor.

Campaigning heated up in advance of this month's primary, with Senator Cynthia Cream boasting of key endorsements, while her challenger, Newton lawyer Charles Rudnick, tried inviting himself to a neighborhood event. And we got a sneak peek at the 20 warrant articles, many of them likely to be controversial, submitted for November's Town Meeting.
