Three Things To Do In Brookline This Weekend

Our weekly Friday preview of the weekend happenings in Brookline.

Take one look at the Brookline Patch Calendar and you'll see there's no shortage of things to keep you and your family busy this weekend. Here are a few of the happenings we're most excited about:

Shop like you're in a recession

It's Brookline's only thrift shop and it's open just two days a week, assuming the weather is cool enough for the ladies who have to work in the un-air-conditioned chapel of United Parish in Brookline all day. Stop by Thrifty Threads between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. this Saturday for a little shopping on the cheap, with most items going for less than $5.

Grab your gloves and join the path party

Whether you actually live on Aspinwall Hill or just need an excuse to get your hands dirty this weekend, join the members of the newly formed Friends of the Paths and Park on Aspinwall Hill for a work party to clean up Addington Path on Aug. 1. Grab your work gloves and meet the rest of the party at Schick Park at 5 p.m. for a brief meeting before the real work begins.

Spend the day with a Lamborghini

Now these are some Italian imports to get excited about! The Larz Anderson Auto Museum is calling all Ferraris, Lamborghini and Fiats for the 35th annual Tutto Italiano, billed as the biggest Italian car show in the Northeast. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children and seniors, or bring your own Italian roadster and register it for the show!
