Vietnamese Restaurant To Move To Brookline
Pho Viet's is moving after 14 years at the Super 88, across the street to Brookline.

BROOKLINE, MA β A popular Vietnamese restaurant is set to move from the Super 88 grocery store food court in Packard's Corner to a space just two blocks away across the street in Brookline soon.
"We're working on renovations still, so we'll hopefully open in the next three weeks," owner Jen Tin said Wednesday. "I hope I'm not being too ambitious, but we're toward the end of those renovations."
Tin said she and her husband closed the family run's original location at the food court on Halloween, after 14 years in the space - in part because they wanted to keep their restaurant staff safe amid the pandemic.

They were looking at spaces in Jamaica Plain and Somerville, but Tin said her husband would miss being in that area.
"When we saw that that space was open, we just kept looking at it," she said. "I think it was meant to be."

Pho Viet's will replace Taqueria El Barrio, which opened in the space on Commonwealth Avenue near the corner with Babcock Street in August 2019, a casualty of the pandemic.
The plan is to open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 am to 9:30 pm and Friday and Saturday.
The Brookline Select Board Tuesday gave approval for 30 seats in the 1,900 square foot space, but the Tin said the restaurant will likely start with takeout only for a bit during the second surge of the pandemic.
"The plan is to do delivery a few months into service," said Tin.
Last year Tin opened Pho Viet's II in Newton Centre, which is takeout only right now. You can find traditional Pho, Banh Mi, rice plates, vermicelli, smoothies and vegetarian dishes on the menu.
