- A Thorndike Street woman called police on Jan. 22 to report that her 12-year-old son had been receiving calls and voicemails from βrelationship chat lines.β Police called the number back and found that it belonged to a man who identified himself as a corrections officer. Police believe someone was using the correction officerβs number through a masking service and may have intended the calls as a joke.
- Someone reported that their laptop had been stolen from a bag while they were at Panera Bread around 4 p.m. on Jan. 21.
- A Winthrop Road resident reported that someone stole $800 out of their bedroom on Jan. 22 or 23.
- A snow blower was stolen from a driveway on Grove Street on Jan. 21 or 22.
- A woman told police she had to take her dog to the vet after it was bitten by another dog while both were off leash at Griggs Park on Jan. 22. She said the other bog was accompanied by an 11-year-old child.
- Police received reports of potential bat exposure on Washington Street and Summit Avenue on Jan. 21. In both cases, the bats had been in a bedroom while someone was sleeping the previous night.
- A Clafflin Road resident told police she believed someone had been in her home on Jan. 20. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was stolen, but she said her neighbors saw the door open and someoneβs shoes outside. She said it may have been her cleaner.
- Security personnel at Boston Eye Associates on Washington Street told police that a security alarm was tripped Jan. 21 and a doctor had found broken glass from a front window.
- Police received a call about β20 young peopleβ running in and out of a house and yelling and fighting near Cypress Street and Milton Road. Police report that the commotion was from an adult-supervised eighth-grade birthday party. Officers were told that a group of uninvited guests had tried to attend, but were sent on their way.
- Police received a report of a smoking manhole near 400 Chestnut Hill Ave. on Jan. 22.
- A woman was issued a no trespass order at Pine Manor College on Jan. 21.
