Weekend Police Log: Jaguar Driver Hassles Woman Waiting for Pedestrians

The following incident report is based on dispatch logs for Friday, Feb. 4, through Sunday, Feb. 6. Look for weekday incident reports each Saturday and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch.

Best of Blotter
  • A caller reported that a gray pickup truck with the lights on appeared to be β€œshaking” in a parking lot off Babcock Street around 2:45 a.m. on Feb. 5. Police identified a couple and sent them on their way.
  • A women told police that a man in a Jaguar got out of his car and started banging and kicking her car while she waiting for pedestrians and traffic to pass near Brookline Ave and the Parkway Road around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 4.
  • A woman reported that a man in his 40s had thrown snow at her after she asked him to move his pickup truck on Payson Road on Feb. 4.
  • Someone called police after they were nearly hit by a Brookline Public Works plow that had run a stop sign on Park Street on Feb. 4. The driver was described as β€œswarthy” with a long beard.
  • A woman reported that a man in a hood had chased her down Harvard Street late on Feb. 5 and shouted β€œgimme that bag.” The man was described as a black man in his 40s standing about 5 feet and 6 inches tall.
Theft
  • A laptop, video game console with games, and cash were reported missing after a burglary on Englewood Avenue on Feb. 6.
  • Police were called to Stop & Shop on Harvard Street after a shoplifter reportedly took off around 4 p.m. on Feb. 5.
  • A caller reported that their wallet had been stolen while they were at The Country Club, possible in the curling building.
  • Someone called police on Feb. 6 to report that they’d left a cell phone in a Boston cab that they did not believe was legitimate. The caller told police that they’d called the cab company after being dropped off in Brookline but found that the line was disconnected.
Animal
  • Police were called to Tappan Street on Feb. 6 after someone reported a possum sitting on a fence.
  • A caller reported a coyote near Goddard Avenue on Feb. 5 was walking slowly and appared to be injured as if attached by another animal.
Misc.
  • Four people will be summonsed to court for mutual assault and battery on Feb. 6 after some kind of dispute between students and a cab driver at Pine Manor College early on Feb. 6.
  • Police were called to Thorndike Street on Feb. 5 after a resident reported a shirtless, shoeless man in his 20s on the street.
  • A caller told police that she was threatened by the superintendent of a building near the Devotion School while she was picking up her kids on Feb. 4.
