Weekend Police Log: Woman Says Parakeet Snatcher Used Her Shower

- A High Street woman called police on March 4 to report that a stranger had come into her apartment, used her shower and taken one of her two parakeets. Dispatchers noted that there had been a βhistory of similar callsβ from the woman.
- A teenage girl called police on March 6 to ask for a protection order against a friend who demanded she pay up for a dog that had been given to her as a gift and threatened to βsmashβ the dog and take it if she didnβt pay. Police determined that the situation didnβt warrant a protection order.
- A woman called police on March 6 and reported that a stranger was βkicking down the doorβ of her apartment and claiming that she had shoes that belonged to the strangerβs child.
- A double stroller worth around $700 was stolen from a home on Crafts Road sometime before 9 a.m. on March 6.
- Someone broke into two cars near Beacon Street and Dean Road and a third car on Regent Circle sometime early on March 5. In all three cases, the thief smashed a window and stole a GPS unit from inside the car. The stereo units were also ripped out of at least two of the cars, and one had other damage to the interior as well.
- A caller reported that they were checking their parents home on Goddard Circle on March 5 and noticed that a window was opened and something were out of place.
- An Alton Street resident reported a bat in the house around 6 p.m. on March 6.
- Someone reported an injured crow in bushes off Cypress Street south of Route 9 on March 6. The Animal Rescue League was sent to retrieve the bird.
- Police received a call about an injured dear near Horace James Circle on March 5.
- A coyote was spotted near the Longwood Mall on March 4.
- A neighbor reportedly struck their Parkway Road neighbor sometime on March 6.
- Police responded to an allegedly assault and battery on Egmont Street on March 5.
- A portable toilet was reportedly knocked over on St. Maryβs Street and appeared to be leaking on March 5.
- Someone on Smythe Street reported that three of the tires on his car were slashed around 2 p.m. on March 5.
- A Gerry Road resident told police they felt threatened by a neighbor who came over to complain about their children playing the piano on March 6.
