Woman Cited After Striking Pedestrian in Coolidge Corner Crosswalk

Accident sends woman to hospital with knee injury.

A woman was sent to the hospital with injuries to her knee after she was struck by a car in a crosswalk near the Trader Joe's parking lot in Coolidge Corner.

Sergeant Robert Disario said the driver, a 23-year-old woman from Quincy, was turning left from Harvard Street to Longwood Avenue around 2:39 p.m. when she struck the pedestrian.

Police are not releasing the name of the driver, who was issued a civil citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian. Disario said police are not pursuing criminal charges.

The injured woman was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for treatment.
