$7K in Jewelry Taken from Home, Victoria's Secret Reports $1,500 Theft

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, January 11- 

  • At 12 p.m. a caller on Wayside Road reported a hit and run accident. A witness provided police with a description of the male who struck the vehicle and left without leaving information. 
  • At 12:34 p.m. a Carol Avenue caller reported a truck had been left in the woods since Christmas. 
  • At 1:59 p.m. a Lord and Taylor caller reported a detaining a shoplifter who allegedly tried to steal $1,000 in merchandise. Store to handle. 
  • At 6:06 p.m. a manager at Victoria's Secret reported $1,500 in items were stolen that afternoon. 
  • Several people reported potholes on Cambridge Street. 
  • At 6:38 p.m. an Arboretum Way caller reported the past theft of jewelry from their home. The caller said they were missing approximately $7,000 worth of jewelry taken within the last two weeks.
