Burlington to Observe 'One Boston Day' April 15 with Moment of Silence

BURLINGTON,MA - Burlington will be joining the City of Boston in observing “One Boston Day” with a moment of silence on the third anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing on Patriots Day 2013. The moment of silence will be observed on Friday, April 15 at 2:49 p.m.

The moment of silence, held every April 15 since the bombings is "to honor those affected by the tragic events of 2013 and to continue to keep coming together as one," Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said Friday morning.

The Patriot’s Day Bombing was an attempt to terrorize the City of Boston, the Commonwealth, and the nation. It was a horrific act that resulted in the loss of four lives and the injury of hundreds. The attackers failed in their mission, as we saw our communities pull together to care for and strengthen each other on that day and the days, weeks and months following.

On One Boston Day, the mayor of Boston is calling on the towns and cities of this state to observe a moment of silence to honor and remember all those affected by the tragic events three years ago, to celebrate those who bravely carry on after, and to strengthen us as one community again.

Officials ask residents to join them as they observe the moment of silence on Friday, at 2:49 p.m.
