Burlington Schools Plan April 26 Full Days For High School
The state has mandated full-time in-person learning for younger students but has not set a deadline for high schools.
BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington school officials plan to bring high school students in for full days April 26, the same day middle schools are required to go to full in-person learning, Superintendent Eric Conti said.
The state has mandated that schools bring elementary and middle school students in full-time April 5 and April 26 respectively, but has not set a deadline for high schoolers.
Remote learning remains an option for families that opt for it, but otherwise only in-person learning will count toward state learning requirements.

Conti said in his video update Friday that the district is planning to bring high schools in for full days "although not presently mandated by the Commissioner."
Much of the senior class will be off-campus for externships, making social distancing easier. But outdoor lunch distancing will drop below 6 feet, Conti said.
