Burlington Track And Field Athlete Named Boston Globe All-Scholastic

Fernando Lamin was named to the boys' track and field All-Scholastic team and Matthew Carr was named the Division 3 Coach of the Year.

BURLINGTON, MA — A Burlington track and field athlete and coach are among the best around, according to the Boston Globe.

Fernando Lamin was named to the boys' track and field All-Scholastic team and Matthew Carr was named the Division 3 Coach of the Year.

This year, Lamin won the EMass Division 3 high jump and triple jump titles for the second year in a row. At the national meet, he played fifth in high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 8¼ inches to earn All-American status. He plans on attending UMass Lowell in the fall.

With Carr as the coach, the boys track and field team won the Middlesex League's Freedom Division, Division 3 Relays, and EMass Division 3 championships for the second straight spring. Carr has gone 57-3 since 2012
