Burlington's Rainforest Cafe Lost Its Lease

Company spokesperson tells Patch what led to the abrupt closure of the well-loved family restaurant.

BURLINGTON, MA - Burlington's Rainforest Cafe closed abruptly this week and now we know why.

Keith Beitler, the COO of Rainforest Cafe, told Patch Thursday that the Burlington Mall location lost its lease and was forced to close its doors on Sunday, April 24.

"We value our employees, their work experience and dedication to our company; and are working to relocate them to our other area locations," he said in a statement. "We encourage our guests to visit us at any of our nationwide Rainforest Cafe locations or our sister properties in the area, including Chart House in Long Wharf; McCormick & Schmick’s in North End Boston; Morton’s on Seaport Lane in Boston and The Oceanaire Seafood Room on Court St in Boston."

Customers of the much-loved, family-friendly Rainforest Cafe inside the Burlington Mall found out on Monday about the restaurant's closure.

They took to social media announcing their shock at the closure, as well as those who had upcoming birthday parties planned at that location who received phone calls this morning telling them the Burlington location had closed.
