This year the Burlington Presbyterian Church at 335 Cambridge Street will continue its special Christmas Eve worship tradition when it welcomes all visitors and friends at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24 to the Family Christmas Eve Service.
The service will include familiar Christmas songs, costumed tableaux (or scenes) of the Nativity Story, and candle–lighting by everyone in the congregation.
Set in the context of the Nativity story as read by church members, the tableaux takes place in a straw-strewn stable set up in the chancel. The story of the birth of Jesus is shown by some of the church’s youth and adults, who will present The Annunciation, The Nativity, The Angel and the Shepherds, and The Visit of the Wise Men.
