Andover Man Accused of Slamming Into a State Police Cruiser Released on Bail

Police say Robert Cambria, 54, of Andover, was drunk when he rammed the cruiser on Rte. 128 in Burlington Sunday Night.

WOBURN, MA -- A 54-year-old Andover man was released on $1,000 cash bail after State Police say Robert Cambria was driving drunk when he slammed into a State Police cruiser protecting a work detail on Route 128 north in Burlington on Sunday night.

Although Cambria allegedly tried to flee, the State Trooper, whose leg was broken in the crash, chased Cambria about a 100 yards and arrested him, according to CBS Boston.

In Woburn District Cour on Monday, Cambria pleaded not guilty to operating under the influence of alcohol. If Cambria posts bail he must abstain from alcohol and submit to random screens.
