Employee Allegedly Steals $16K, Shoplifter Summonsed

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, December 1- 

• In the early morning there were multiple citations issued for the winter parking ban. Read about the ban here to avoid getting a ticket. 
• At 10:02 a.m. a Washington Avenue caller reported someone broke the window on the first floor of her house. 
• At 11:59 a.m. a caller at Best Buy reported her vehicle was damaged in a hit and run accident. An employee witness said a gray pickup truck backed into the vehicle and fled the parking lot. 

• At 10:31 a.m. a woman came to the station to report her wallet was stolen from the back room of Party City, where she works, on Nov. 30. A credit card had since been used at the Apple Store. 
• At 2:23 p.m. a Forbes Avenue caller reported he heard someone trying to open the door to his residence. 
• At 5:09 p.m. a caller on Cambridge Street reported an erratic driver. Caller said the driver was in the break-down lane and almost struck numerous parked cars. 
• At 8:10 p.m. police issued a summons to a Saugus woman on a charge of concealing merchandise (second offense). Summon's issued after Macy's loss prevention reported having a female shoplifter in custody for an attempted theft of a $98 pair of jeans. 

• At 3:37 p.m. a caller reported her husband would not let her out of the house. Restraining order issued. 
• At 9:04 p.m. a Victoria's Secret caller requested police be present while they interview an employee over possible theft charges. As a result police issued a summons to a Tewksbury woman on a charge of larceny over $250 after the store reported she stole $16,000.
