Mount Hope Christian School Shines with 1,500 Acts of Kindness

Mount Hope students complete more than 1,500 acts of kindness in just three weeks as part of a school fundraiser

Mount Hope Christian School just wrapped up a kindness-focused fundraising campaign called Raise Craze. During the fundraiser, students showed their appreciation to donors by completing acts of kindness for others. At the end of the three-week campaign, the students completed over 1,500 acts of kindness and raised over $20,000!

“We’ve heard that this fundraiser has been not only beneficial in the classroom but also at home! Encouraging students to think outside of themselves and look to helping others promotes good in the entire community,” said Misha Levitre, coordinator of the fundraiser for Mount Hope.

Students have enjoyed everything from picking up trash in their neighborhoods to collecting food for the food pantry, helping their siblings at home and even putting out seeds for the birds. One preschool classroom made 100 note cards for cancer patients so that patients would be able to write notes to those who have taken care of them.

“Thank you for giving us an opportunity to understand the importance of being kind and making it a part of our life. I will stick with always,” said third grader, Abhay.

In addition to individual acts of kindness, the school partnered with a couple of local organizations. Students were challenged to enter acts of kindness so Mount Hope could match their kindness by donating books to People Helping People’s Holiday Program. School families also gathered as a community at an Ice Cream Social to enjoy friendship, play games together and make some crafts for themselves, their communities and New Horizons Independent and Assisted Living in Woburn.
