Mount Hope Christian School just wrapped up a kindness-focused fundraising campaign called Raise Craze. During the fundraiser, students showed their appreciation to donors by completing acts of kindness for others. At the end of the two and a half week campaign, the students completed over 2,700 acts of kindness and raised over $26,000!

“The benefit of this fundraiser is not only financial; it’s promoting character through kindness and acts of giving. Bless the children and their families who went above and beyond this year,” said Elaine Driscoll, Principal of Mount Hope Christian School.

Due to social distancing, our campaign was a little different, but our students rose to the challenge. Students made bookmarks for their friends in other classrooms with book suggestions. They made wreaths for a local nursing home. Our 5th grade class recorded themselves reading books so that the preschoolers could still have older children read to them. And one class made 140 note cards for cancer patients to use to write notes to their loved ones and care givers. In addition to this, students also did a lot on their own to help out, picking up trash in the neighborhood, doing extra chores at home, helping their siblings and so much more.

In addition to individual acts of kindness, the school partnered with a couple of local organizations. Students were challenged to enter acts of kindness so Mount Hope could match their kindness by donating books to People Helping People’s Holiday Program. Some of our students gathered for a socially distanced car parade at a local nursing home. Mount Hope families were very generous in donating three car loads of items for the Burlington Food Pantry as well.
