Oak Furnitureland Holding Holiday Coat Drives For Local Shelters
"Gently worn winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves" donated at the store will be distributed by HELPIS to local shelters.
BURLINGTON, MA — Oak Furnitureland is holding a holiday coat drive for area shelters, through Saturday and then Dec. 26 through Jan. 30. The company is asking residents to drop off gently worn winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves at their store at the Wayside Shopping Center. HELPIS, a Burlington nonprofit, will distribute the winter wear to people living in local shelters, according to the press release.
“Winters can be harsh, particularly for people without secure housing. That’s why we’re offering our support by becoming a drop-off point,” said Bill Sabodor, general manager of Oak Furnitureland, in a statement. “Our first snowstorm is already upon us, and we want to help more people stay safe and warm this winter.”
The Burlington showroom at Wayside, the company's first U.S. store, is at 6 Wayside Rd, Burlington, MA.
