Overnight Roadwork Will Close Middlesex Turnpike In Burlington

The work is scheduled to begin Sunday night.

From MassDOT: The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced that temporary overnight lane closures on the Middlesex Turnpike north and southbound in the area of the Route 128/I-95 underpass in Burlington will begin during the evening of Sunday, April 7.

These overnight lane closures will take place each evening between 9 p.m., and 5 a.m., and will continue for approximately three months. Lane closures may also be necessary during off-peak daytime hours as operations require. Traffic on Route 128/I-95 north and southbound is not expected to be impacted by these operations

These temporary off-peak traffic impacts are necessary to allow crews and contractors to safely and effectively perform bridge repair operations.

Signs, traffic control devices and law enforcement details will be used to guide drivers through the work zone. MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone and to allow for extra time through this area. All work is weather dependent and is subject to change without notice.
