Police Search Mill Pond Area After Alleged Sexual Assault
Police searched the area after a woman said she was sexually assaulted on the side of the road, Thursday night.

BURLINGTON, MA — Burlington police responded Thursday night to an alleged sexual assault near Mill Pond Reservoir. The department concluded that there is no danger to the public..
The department received a 911 call at 4:30 p.m. from a woman who said she was sexually assaulted on the side of the road near the intersection of Peach Orchard Road and Arborwood Drive. Passersby stopped to assist the woman, and said they had found her nude in the middle of the street.
Witnesses also said someone had fled the area on foot.

When police arrived, the woman was in a passerby's car. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Burlington police, the state police helicopter unit, the regional K9 unit and officers from Woburn and Wilmington searched the wooded area beside the reservoir, around Peach Orchard Road, until around 7:30 p.m. Around 10 dogs participated in the search, Burlington police said.

"Following an intensive search of the wooded area the Burlington Police Department is confident that the public is at no risk," said Chief Michael Kent in a statement. "I want to thank all of the officers who participated in the search by foot, as well as the helicopter unit that was able to assist."
