Shoplifter Arrested for Resisting Detention, 'IRS' Scam Reported

Burlington Police Department logs for December 9 to 10.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, December 9- 

  • At 6:29 a.m. Bedford Police reported recovering a stolen motor vehicle owned by a Burlington resident. Owner notified. 
  • At 9:56 a.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle slid on the ice and hit a fire hydrant on Wilmington Road. 
  • At 2:54 p.m. a caller reported his $699 Samsung Not 3 cell phone was stolen while he was at the Sprint store in the Burlington Mall. 
  • At 4:01 p.m. police arrested Alex Roland, 22, of 601 Avalon Drive, Apartment 1, Bedford on a charge of assault and battery. Roland was also summonsed on a charge of larceny over $250. Arrest made after Lord & Taylor loss prevention reported a shoplifter resisted being detained. 
Tuesday, December 10 
  • At 3:16 p.m. police summonsed a 16-year-old juvenile on a charge of leaving the scene of property damage. Summonsed issued after a caller reported a hit and run accident in the Burlington Mall parking lot. 
  • At 3:49 p.m. a caller reported a hit and run accident damaged her vehicle but later stated it was actually one of her children that did the damage. 
  • At 4:11 p.m. police arrested Jonathan Stukowski, 36, of 2 Farnum Terrace, Worcester, on charges of violating a harassment prevention order (6 counts). Arrest made after a caller on Wayside Road reported her ex-boyfriend was harassing her. 
  • At 5:34 p.m. a Holly Street caller reported their vehicle was damaged in a hit and run accident. 
  • At 7:43 p.m. a James Street caller reported receiving phone calls from someone who claimed to be from the IRS and said that money was owned. Police told her the phone calls were a scam. 
  • At 10:51 p.m. police arrested David Ivan Kane, 25, of 19 Mohawk Road, Burlington, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
