'Worked Around The Clock Nearly Every Day': Burlington Heroes

BURLINGTON, MA— When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Minal Shingavi who nominated Ayush Shingavi and Anshul Shirude of Burlington.

Name: Ayush Shingavi and Anshul Shirude

Home town: Burlington

Hero's job: Started the 'Sponsor-A-Basket' organization raising over $8000 for 8 food pantries across the greater Boston Area to help out with the pandemic.

Relationship to nominee: Parent

Reason for recognition: Ayush and Anshul started their program around the end of may. Their original goal was to only help out the Burlington Food Pantry because they really needed it, but ended up serving 8+ towns and raised over $8000 in donations to food pantries near by.

One thing to know: These two have worked around the clock nearly every day for the last 3 months, driving back and forth from Nashua to pick up food and deliver it to local pantries, they've built up a team of over 15 people across 8+ towns, and are still continuing!
