Bicyclist Dead After Cambridge Crash

A cyclist suffered critical injuries in a Thursday afternoon accident in East Cambridge.

CAMBRIDGE, MA - A cyclist has died after succumbing to injuries suffered in a Thursday afternoon accident in East Cambridge, the Middlesex District Attorney's office said.

The crash was between a Cambridge landscaping truck and 27-year-old Cambridge woman Amanda Phillips. She suffered critical injuries and was being treated at a Boston area hospital. Cambridge and State Police are investigating. A third vehicle, an SUV, may have been involved in the accident, police said.

The Hampshire and Cambridge Street intersection was closed to traffic after the accident. At 5:08 p.m. Cambridge police said on social media that the intersection of Hampshire and Cambridge streets has been re-opened to traffic.
