Cambridge City Manager Says Thank You to Police in Wake of Dallas Shooting

City Manager Richard C. Rossi sent a communication to the Cambridge Police Department.

CAMBRIDGE, MA - City Manager Richard C. Rossi sent this communication to the Cambridge Police Department:

I am extremely proud of the men and women of the Cambridge Police Department for the professionalism and dedication they demonstrate on a daily basis. Please convey to the members of your department my condolences on the loss of their colleagues in Dallas.
These are difficult and stressful times for the law enforcement community, as well as our nation. While the actions of a few have cast a shadow across our society, it is my hope that we can find a path forward. The Cambridge Police Department has and continues to serve as a model department for respecting the rights of all citizens and insuring the public’s safety during times of protest or other difficult incidents.
I recognize that protecting our City is more complex than it has ever been before and that our officers must constantly remain aware of their surroundings to ensure their personal safety. As City Manager, I will continue to support the Cambridge Police Department with the trainings and resources needed to ensure the public’s and officer’s safety.
I am truly grateful and comforted by the unwavering dedication and commitment of the Cambridge Police Department to this City and its’ residents.
