Cambridge Man Gets Six Months For Gun Used In Sean Collier Killing After Boston Marathon Bombing Attack

CAMBRIDGE, MA - A Massachusetts man who at one time was in possession of the gun that the Boston Marathon bombers used to kill a police officer has been sentenced to six months in prison, FOX 25 News reported yesterday.

Merhawi Berhe, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, also was ordered to serve two years of supervised release - he pleaded guilty in March to possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, FOX 25 reported.

Prosecutors said Berhe, 22, gave the gun to another man, who later gave it to convicted marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Tsarnaev and his older brother, Tamerlan, used the gun several days after the April 2013 finish line bombings to kill Massachusetts Institute of Technology officer Sean Collier, a Somerville native.
