CANTON, MA — Massachusetts State Police are seeking two suspects on Wednesday who fled the scene of an accident after a state trooper was struck by a motorcycle and dragged for a short distance, which caused minor injuries to the officer, police said.

The trooper, who was not identified by police, was attempting to speak to the motorcyclists at a Shell gas station on Rt. 138 in Canton at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday night. The trooper had approached the motorcyclist after police received reports of motorcycles racing in the area, police said in a news release.

As the trooper was speaking with two motorcyclists at the gas station, one of the bikes struck the trooper and dragged him for a short distance from the area of the gas pumps and into Route 138 before the two motorcycles fled the scene, police said. The trooper declined to be taken to a hospital for injuries and remained on the job.
